Geographic Service Area
The primary service area for the Child Guidance Center is Polk and Warren counties. Residents of those counties are eligible for county-subsidized services based on a sliding fee scale. Residents of other counties who work in Polk or Warren Counties are eligible for subsidized services as well. Services may be provided to children and families from other geographical areas, but non-Polk or Warren county residents are not able to participate in the sliding fee scale.

The Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) provides services for the following Central Iowa counties:
- Boone,
- Dallas,
- Hardin,
- Jasper,
- Madison,
- Marion,
- Marshall,
- Polk,
- Story, and
- Warren.
Functional Family Therapy serves Polk, Dallas, Madison, Marion and Warren counties.
School-based mental health services are provided to school districts in Polk, Warren, Madison and Marion counties.
Eligibility for Services
The Child Guidance Center provides services to children and youth from birth to age 21. For children and youth age 17 and younger, parent/guardian permission or a court order is necessary to engage a child or youth in treatment. Young adults ages 18 to 21 provide their own consent for services.
