Congratulations to State Representative Linda Miller who received the Orchard Place 2015 Voice for Children Award.
State Representative Linda Miller represents Bettendorf in the Iowa House. She was presented the 2015 Voice for Children award at the November Orchard Place Thanksgiving Luncheon.
She was born in Creston, Iowa and grew up in Greenfield, Iowa, where she attended the public school system. Following high school graduation, she attended the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, Drake University and the University of Iowa.
She is a registered nurse and her husband Harold is a family practice physician. Together, Linda and Harold have six children and five grandchildren.
Linda was first elected to the Iowa House in 2006. She currently serves as the Chair of the House Human Resources Committee. She is also on the Health and Human Services Budget Subcommittee. Given her background as a health care provider, few legislators have as good of understanding of the challenges faced by health care providers as they work to improve the health and lives of the people for which they provide care.
Throughout her time in the legislature, Linda has provided important leadership in support of Orchard Place's System of Care program, which provides vital services to children across the state of Iowa.
