Orchard Place has received a grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity to fund a van that will be used to transport children to various health appointments and recreation activities in Central Iowa. The new van will replace an older model that was purchased 12 years ago.
Orchard Place works with families who have children and youth experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges. By intervening early with appropriate care, we build stronger futures for our young clients. By partnering with other organizations, Orchard Place has become an important resource in all 99 Iowa counties.
The Variety grant will be used to meet the transportation and recreation needs of children utilizing Orchard Place services. The new van will be used to take children for offsite medical exams, educational trips, and recreational trips.
“Variety - the Children’s Charity continues to play an important role in helping improve the lives of the 8,000 children we serve each year,” said Anne Starr, Orchard Place CEO. “We could not be more appreciative of this gift, and the impact Variety-the Children’s Charity continues to have across the state.”
