Celebrating our volunteers during National Volunteer Month

April marks National Volunteer Month, a time dedicated to honoring the spirit of volunteerism that enriches our communities and our lives. During this month, we are reminded of the powerful impact that volunteering has, not only on our personal growth but to support the causes we care about.

“Volunteering at Orchard Place encourages youth struggling with their mental health,” explained Brandie Broadhead, the Director of Volunteers and Special Events.

Volunteering is an act of kindness and generosity that fosters a sense of belonging not only for the volunteer but for the children served at Orchard Place.

“Our volunteers engage in activities like playing games. That may seem simple, but the impact it can have on these young individuals is profound,” said Broadhead. “It shows them that they are not forgotten, they are valued, and that there are people who genuinely care about their happiness and well-being.”

National Volunteer Month is not only a time to recognize and applaud the countless volunteers who dedicate their time to making a positive impact but also a call to action. It encourages us to reflect on how we can contribute to the betterment of our communities. Volunteer to help us Develop Strong Futures! New volunteer opportunities are posted monthly at orchardplace.org.
