Orchard Place receives grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity

(Des Moines, Iowa) – Orchard Place has received a grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity to fund safe, durable furniture that is specifically designed for the unique population we serve.

Orchard Place Campus is home to a highly regarded around the clock intensive mental health treatment program for youth ages 10 to 17. They receive multidisciplinary care, attend our Campus School, and benefit from many recreational and therapeutic activities. They live on Campus an average of six months until they’re healthy enough to return to their homes and communities. This past year, 98% of youth successfully discharged to a lower level of care.

“At Orchard Place, we understand that anxiety, depression, history of trauma, being away from home, and other worries may keep kids up at night,” said Anne Starr, CEO of Orchard Place. Thank you to Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa for your generous grant to support our Campus Furniture Campaign which will help us make each bedroom on Campus a safe, cozy space for a child in treatment to rest, read, and recharge.”
