Orchard Place Recognizes 2014 Q1 Mentors and Volunteers


DES MOINES, Iowa, April 22, 2014 – Orchard Place, mental health experts for Iowa’s children, recognizes the role mentoring plays in children’s development and creates a positive impact for mentors who recognize their work makes a difference.

According to the Federal Mentoring Council, studies show that high quality mentoring has the potential to be a successful intervention strategy to address risk among youth and to promote positive behaviors and attitudes.

“Our mentors, volunteers and lunch buddies play an important part in the development of the children we serve,” said Orchard Place Chief Executive Officer Anne Starr. “We are very fortunate to have a number of board members and friends of Orchard Place who devote their time weekly to improving the lives of the children we serve.”
